Artist Shawn Martinbrough Shares His Talents With the Tregaron Community

As part of our Black History Month celebrations, we were so excited to welcome Shawn Martinbrough to Tregaron on Friday! Shawn is an acclaimed comic book artist and author renowned for his distinctive noir style and contributions to major comic book franchises. He authored "How to Draw Noir Comics: The Art and Technique of Visual Storytelling," published by Penguin Random House, which has been translated into multiple languages.

Throughout his career, Shawn has worked with prominent publishers such as DC Comics, Marvel, and Dark Horse Comics. His notable projects include "Batman: Detective Comics," "Luke Cage Noir," "The Black Panther," and "Hellboy." He also illustrated the graphic novel series "Thief of Thieves," co-created with Robert Kirkman, creator of "The Walking Dead" and "Invincible."

On Friday, he spoke at both Middle School and Upper School assemblies, where he shared highlights from his career and discussed his drawing style before taking questions from the audiences. Shawn was an incredibly engaging speaker, and the students were captivated!
